Born in Mexico City, he uses his storytelling and artistic gifts to inspire and entertain audiences in both English and Spanish. His background in religious studies helps him take meaningful messages and make them resonate with any audience. Mr. Castillo had a knack for art from the time he was a child. As an adult, he received his education from the Ringling School of Art and Florida Bible College. Years later, he returned to continue his education at Asbury Theological Seminary. Here, he received an advanced degree in Biblical Studies as well as a Masters in Divinity. With his religious background, he uses his sand animation to recount stories from The Christmas Story around the globe. He also performs his ArtStory and WordStory relying on additional media to motivate others.

He is also a bestselling author, storyteller and public speaker who has developed inventive methods of telling inspiring stories through the use of sand artistry. He has performed on all seven continents in over 40 countries and has been introduced in 35 different languages. His performances are appropriate for a variety of corporate events, and his audiences have included kings, dignitaries and CEOs of Fortune 500 companies.
In his career, he has performed for a number of notable companies including, but not limited to, Apple Computers, Mercedes Benz, Disney Marketing Group and the Bank of Dubai. Castillo closed the 2011 TED Active Conference with a performance called “The Rediscovery of Wonder!” The same year, he performed at TED Global in Edinburgh, Scotland.
