Motivational speaker, actor and Comedian Anthony Griffith speaks humorously about his father’s less than fortunate childhood, and how his family had to make do with what little they had. Being from the generation of “You Don’t Know How Good You Got It,” his dad knew a thing or two about sacrifice and was sure to let young Anthony know at every turn. While some of his father’s memories may have seemed a little far-fetched at the time, Anthony hung onto every word, and it made such a positive impact on his life that he gladly shares these and other stories for all to enjoy and learn from.
About Comedian Anthony Griffith
Since the 1980s, Mr. Griffith has been entertaining audiences with his stand up comedy, acting and inspirational speeches. Growing up with a very religious mother in the inner city gave Anthony a humorous outlook on life. His unique musings on marriage, family life, and the pursuit of sanity are fresh, entertaining, and funny, all while keeping it family friendly. Anthony began his show business career in his native Chicago while still a college student, taking his stand-up comedy to cafes, restaurants, and hotels to develop his style. After an attention-getting appearance on Ed McMahon’s “Star Search,” Griffith’s career took off
Comedian Anthony Griffith has appeared on over twenty-five comedy television programs, including “Star Search” with Ed McMahon, “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson,” Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend,” “The Arsenio Hall Show,” “Evening at The Improv,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and appearances on both HBO and Showtime specials. As Griffith, himself once said, “I performed anywhere and everywhere, in the hopes of learning and mastering the craft.” Anthony Griffith demonstrates his ability to mine comedy, laughter and inspiration from the everyday experiences of a family man, without resorting to crude language or material.
Also, to standing up comedy and speaking engagements, it is also possible to see him act in such classic television programs as “Who’s The Boss,” “The Bernie Mac Show,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Masters of Horror.” He has also appeared in the movies “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle,” “Tales From The Hood,” “Panther,” “The Curve,” and the Emmy award-winning made-for-television film “Our Father.”
Over his long career, Griffiths had managed to find laughter, comedy, and spirit to move forward. Especially during the darkest times in his life, as when he lost his young daughter to cancer or received a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis as he demonstrated in his performance at the well-respected “The Moth” story telling show.
Faced with the death of his two-year-old daughter, Griffith is a comedian who has dealt with a lot of pain and suffering in recent years. After dealing with this tragic loss due to cancer, he is attempting to keep his sense of humor, and his career by performing clean comedy throughout the country as a part of the “Apostles of Comedy” tour with fellow clean comedians Jeff Allen, Brad Stine and Ron Pearson.
Comedian Anthony Griffith knows from first-hand experience that laughter is the best medicine, and if life is getting you down, he knows the stories to get you smiling and back on your feet again. Whether it’s a corporate event, church function or other large gathering, Comedian Anthony Griffith with his entertaining yet clean performances is sure to leave everybody entertained and inspired.
