Music acts have always been an integral part of America’s Got Talent. Throughout the show’s seasons, a lot of musicians have proved themselves in front of a global audience and went on to start booming careers.
From all the musicians that have been on stage, some really made a lasting impression on the audience.
In this article, we take a look at some of those musicians that have been popular and see why they became so adored.
1. Michael Grimm
During the early seasons of the show, the competition was fierce between musicians as they made a bulk of the talents being showcased. For music acts to get ahead, they had to have something unique or to be generally well-received by the audience.
In that case, Michael Grimm’s victory might seem odd. However, what he lacked in stage presence, he made up for in sheer musical prowess.
His soulful vocal delivery and skillful guitar-playing made him an audience favorite from the get-go – a fact which would help him later in the competition until eventually becoming the winner of the 5th season of America’s Got Talent.
2. Sal Valentinetti
Crooners seem as if they are part of a bygone era. However, if there is one thing that Sal Valentinetti proved to the world is that the smooth style of crooners has a place in modern entertainment.
Sal participated in the 11th season of AGT, showcasing his flawless vocals by doing a cover of Frank Sinatra’s hit song, My Way.
Sal’s performance was so roaring that he got a standing ovation from the audience and he even got a Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum.
3. Angelica Hale
Angelica Hale was only 11 years old when she participated in America’s Got Talent 12th season. Her childish demeanor brought a lot of joy and cheer to the show, but what made her truly stand out was her ability to sing.
During the auditions, Angelica performed a flawless rendition of the song “Rise Up” by Andra Day, a performance that got her a Golden Buzzer and a ticket straight to the live shows.
From there, it was smooth sailing for Angelica, scoring one marvelous performance after another until eventually finishing second – making her the youngest runner-up in the show’s history.
4. Cami Bradley
Cami Bradley is a singer and pianist that left a lasting impression both on the audience and the judges. Back in the early 2010’s moody-pop was in continuous rotation on the radio and Cami managed to bring that exact sound to the AGT stage.
Her style of music was a much-appreciated change of pace from the anthemic vocal performances of her peers. So much so, that she made it up into the show’s Finale.
During her last performance on the show, Cami sang ”Not Over You” alongside Gavin DeGraw, getting a spot among the finalists.
