Lots of exciting magic acts have graced the stage of AGT since the show first aired in 2006 – with some making it into the final stages of the competition.
Three magicians even managed to take home the big prize, as recently as last season.
In honor of magician Dustin Tavella winning the 16th season, let’s look back at some of the funniest magicians on America’s Got Talent over the years.
1. Derek Hughes
A finalist on Season 10, Derek Hughes combined card magic with comedy and a charming personality to win over the audience.
Thanks to his original comic voice, Derek managed to stand out from other magicians performing similar magic tricks – and leave a lasting impression on the judges and those watching at home.

The magician/comedian was an instant hit with audiences worldwide by appearing in a dragon costume and incorporating self-deprecating humor into his acts; the magician/comedian was an instant hit with audiences worldwide.
Piff competed in Season 10 of AGT, finishing the bottom 5 of the top 10 and becoming one of the most popular magicians on America’s Got Talent.

3. Mat Franco
When it comes to magicians on AGT, Mat Franco is perhaps the first name that comes to mind.
That’s because Mat made AGT history when he became the first magician ever to win the show in 2014.
Using a unique combination of storytelling, humor, sleight of hand, and creativity, Mat Franco shows how immersive and entertaining magic can be.
Mat performed a mind-boggling illusion for his final performance on America’s Got Talent that involved no less than 52 audience members.

4. Collins Key
One of the youngest magicians on AGT Collins Key, was still in high school when he auditioned for Season 8 of the show.
Although he faced tough competition in the auditions, Collins managed to impress the judges by somehow sending a dollar bill into an unopened bag of chips.
Collins made it to the next rounds, finishing the competition in 5th place with this act.
Furthermore, several of his performances went viral online, and audiences from all over the world praised Collins for his energetic personality, sense of humor, and unique close-up magic tricks.
