Penn and Teller: Fool Us is one of the most popular magic shows today in America. And judging by the immense popularity, it has amassed online; it is safe to say that audiences want more from it.
The show is in its 7th season, and by the looks of it, it’s going to be another hit.
While eagerly waiting for the newest episode, we decided it would be a great idea to have a look at some of the finest moments from all the previous seasons.
This is why, in the following article, we have organized a top 5 of whom we consider were the best foolers from the show’s history!
5. Joshua Jay
If there’s one magician who gave them headaches, it would have to be Joshua Jay. He was one of the foolers from the 2nd season, where he performed a phenomenal card trick.
The trick involved him asking a volunteer to deal with a card from an entire deck. Joshua would then be blindfolded and try to pick the card through gut feeling.
He managed to find the right card but also revealed that the other cards in the deck were blank. If he had picked any other card, the trick would have failed!
Needless to say that Penn and Teller tried their best, but they couldn’t figure out how Joshua did it.
4. Helen Coghlan
Helen Coghlan is an Australian magician who is world-renowned for being the first woman to have ever performed Houdini’s Water Torture Escape.
She’s remembered as being one of the best foolers from the 5th season of the show. What sets her apart from the other magicians who were on the show is the fact she showcased two tricks.
And in both instances, both Penn and Teller weren’t able to figure out how she did it!
3. Nick Einhorn
Nick Einhorn was a fooler back from season one when the show was taking off, and people didn’t know quite what to expect from it.
It’s safe to say that Nick set a high standard. Even to this day, his trick remains as one of the most mind-boggling performances in the show’s history.
Many people have tried to debunk his trick and still do to this day – which is an homage to how impactful it has been over the years.
2. Ryan Hayashi
Fool Us is the sort of show where you don’t have to think too much about the tricks being performed, that’s Penn and Teller’s job!
Ryan Hayashi is a magician who showcased an incredible coin trick, which involved him swapping the coins from beneath the cards. However, the trick itself was only half of the act, but also an incredible journey, employing elements of comedy and storytelling.
For the audience, it was an incredible experience, whereas the hosts had a hard time trying to figure it out.
1. Steven Brundage
Steven Brundage remained in the show’s history as one of the most masterful foolers. He amazed the audiences with his incredible manipulations of the Rubik’s cube, and it didn’t take long for Penn to declare they were fooled.
He was able to solve a Rubik’s cube in milliseconds, and in many instances, he would either throw a scrambled cube into the air or have someone else hold it, and in a blink of an eye, the cube was solved.
It was an absolute wow moment for everyone, and to this day, Steve’s performance is fondly remembered!
