How Daren Streblow Got into Comedy
Daren was born in Ely, Minnesota, and he had quite an imagination when he was little.
As a child, he used to do a lot of crazy and outgoing things.
For example, he would draw an “S” on his shirt, then jump into traffic to stop bad drivers. He also had much fun shooting arrows at neighbor houses or occasionally lighting camp fires in neighbor’s basements.
In school, Daren’s classmates did not laugh at his jokes that much because they thought he was serious. His jokes made his teachers laugh out loud on some occasions.
As a teenager, Daren started working part-time at a radio station. He had a super-deep voice which made listeners think he was somewhere around 40 when he was just 16.
Even though he took the job because his mother wanted so, Daren fell in love with the radio and thought about pursuing a career involving it.
After he studied communications at the University of Minnesota, he decided to give comedy a try. This happened in 1995.
Brad Stine, who is a comedian as well, was one of Daren’s first influences and he encouraged him to do some open mic nights in Minneapolis.
Even if his performance only lasted for about five to ten minutes, he would still drive about two hours to do it.
The open mic nights brought him much exposure, and so he became popular.
In 1998, Daren Streblow officially became a full-time comedian.
Daren’s Comedy Show
Since 1995, Daren has been entertaining hundreds of thousands of people throughout his shows.
He has been performing as a headliner at churches, fundraisers, corporate events and colleges all over the United States.
Daren is an opportunist when it comes to comedy because he is always approaching the amusing side of life and how people are living it.
