Who Is Anthony Griffith?
Anthony is an American comedian, actor, and philanthropist. He was born in a religious family in Chicago, Illinois, which is where he lived until the 80s when he went to college.
During college, he became somehow passionate about stand-up comedy, and he ended up performer wherever he got the chance, anywhere from comedy clubs, colleges, restaurants or hotels.
All he wanted to do was to learn and master the craft of stand-up comedy.
Anthony’s Experience in the Entertainment Industry
It is almost as if Anthony Griffith was destined to make people laugh.
He became a family-friendly comic, known for his clean, yet edgy and acerbic style. A big influence over his comedy style was due to the fact he grew up in the inner city and was reared by a religious mother.
All of these aspects helped lay the foundation for Anthony’s amusing insights about life, liberty and the pursuit of sanity.
In the 90s, he became extremely popular, and he even made a few appearances on programs such as Ed McMahon’s, Star Search, The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, HBO, and Showtime.
Ever since Anthony’s career skyrocketed and he has had over 25 national comedy television appearances, including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
Anthony is an actor as well and has played in movies such as “Tales from the Hood,” Mario Van Peebles’ “Panther,” “The Curve” and the television drama “Our Father,” for which he even received an Emmy.
More recently, he became a part of the “Apostles of Comedy” tour, during which he visits churches throughout the country and performs comedy shorts written and produced by him.
Anthony’s Struggle Impacted Him as a Comedian
In 2003, Anthony participated in “Moth Stories,” a nonprofit organization dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling.
In this project, he recorded himself talking about the death of his daughter in 1990, at the age of only two years old. He also talked about what it has been like to live with multiple sclerosis for many years.
His life experiences have made him a spiritual man, one whose mission is to help and comfort others through sharing his story and through laughter, as well.
Anthony Griffith is a clean comedian who knows just what to say and how to inspire audiences at fundraising events, no matter the cause you are advocating for.
His unique outlook on life and non-offensive humor makes Anthony the perfect entertainer you can have at a fundraiser.
