Christmas is almost here, which means that it is that time of the year again when you need to start putting together all the final touches for the upcoming corporate party.

While you cannot please every single person that is going to attend the party, you can still make sure that you avoid certain event planning mistakes that can ruin everyone’s good mood.

So if you want to make sure that you do not overlook anything before the big day, keep reading this article.

5 Event Planning Mistakes That Will Ruin Any Corporate Party

Mistakes you want to avoid when planning a corporate party

1. Last-minute planning
Some event planners like the thrill of setting everything up in a short amount of time, and maybe that could be a successful strategy sometimes. Still, the risk is too big. Last-minute planning is a big no-no, especially when throwing a corporate party where there are plenty of people involved.

You need to let everyone know in advance so that people can attend the party, especially the higher-ups. You need time to arrange all the details, hire a caterer and think about some fun activities.

2. Not having food variety
We all get grumpy when we are hungry, and you do not want the attendees to feel that way during the party. While it is important to have variety, you also need to consider certain allergies that people might have or lifestyles that keep them from eating certain foods.

Keep a tab on these things and make sure that every meat lover, vegetarian, vegan or raw vegan will have plenty of food to choose from.

3. Not involving the employees in the planning
You may be a great event planner, and all of your previous parties turned out to be a success, but ultimately a corporate party is all about the people that work in a certain environment, and the party is intended for them.

So ask them for their opinion, get to know them and what they want to do at the party, how they’d like to be entertained.

4. Lack of entertainment
Speaking of entertainment: Corporate entertainment is a must. There are so many ideas to choose from here, like corporate comedians, for instance, that will make the party more engaging and exciting.

At a corporate party, you cannot rely on the fact that people are going to talk to each other for hours, tell jokes or listen to music because, after a while, they will become bored. Corporate entertainment is the secret ingredient.

5. Forgetting to confirm the vendors
Even though you know that you’ve talked to the vendors already, it does not hurt to call or email them 48 hours before the party to confirm what you’ve already discussed.

If you do not do this, you may encounter some unpleasant surprises like having no caterer or no entertainment, which means having no party. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Make your next corporate party unforgettable

If you are looking to hire a corporate comedian, then we have some options for you. The tricky part is that all the good ones are booked in advance, so you have to move fast if you want to have a funny comedian at the party.
