Featured Wine: GAJA Ca’Marcanda Promis 2017
Ca’Marcanda is owned by the Gaja Family - one of the most venerable wine making families in the world. It took 18 trips in all to complete negotiations for the 1996 purchase of their historic Bolgheri estate so the Gaja family began to call it “ca’ marcanda,” the house of endless negotiations, from the Piedmontese dialect ca’ (meaning casa or house) and marcandè (meaning mercanteggiare or to haggle).
Dating back to 1859, it has been an impeccable five generations of winemaking in the Gaja family. Today, since the launch of Ca’ Marcanda, it stands alone as a unique contribution to their history of winemaking.
