He also praised Olivia as a performer in her own right, explaining that some dog acts have entertaining animals but an uninteresting trainer, while Olivia was compelling onstage as well.
Olivia described the Live Show as the biggest thing she had ever done and said she was proud of the dogs. America’s Vote advanced her from Quarterfinals 1 to the Semifinals.
In the Semifinals, Olivia faced an unusual comparison because Acro Canine Crew, another dog act, was competing on the same night. Rather than trying to match the larger group’s scale, Olivia kept the performance centered on her relationship with her dogs.
Sofía praised how clearly the dogs appeared to enjoy working with Olivia, while Mel B emphasized the difficulty of Olivia managing the entire act herself with three dogs. America ultimately advanced both Olivia and Acro Canine Crew, sending two very different canine acts into the Finals.
Olivia’s Finals performance was not completely clean. The routine finished ahead of the music, and Sofía thought Olivia’s nerves were affecting both her and the dogs.
The judges remained supportive. Sofía said she still loved the act despite the mistakes, while Howie reminded Olivia that viewers would be considering what she had accomplished throughout the season rather than judging her entire run on one Finals performance.
